Denver MC John Madden was recently into CCM Recording Studios (10.19.2007) working on a track for his upcoming album. 
Although the track’s not quite finished, the beat from local producer, Concept, and the ferocious lyricism of Madden is sure to turn some heads. The track entitled, “Too Late” will be posted in a future blog once the mix has been slow-baked and buttered like breakfast rolls. For Madden’s vocal recording we used a Neumann U87 running through a Grace 101 (ribbon version) pre-amp for a crisp sound that we pushed into a slight clipping in the mic pre-amp. The resulting effect is the sound characteristics of a vicious MC busting through the speakers.
