Earlier in April, Darren Curtis Skanson and Gregg Hansen were at CCM Recording Studios to do their duet arrangemnet of the American folk song Shenandoah. The guitar duet was for the newly released Honor The Fallen - Songs For The Colorado Freedom Memorial fundraising CD just put out by the Colorado Freedom Memorial.

Friday, Darren, Darren’s producer Tom Capek, and cellist Wayne Templeman came into the studio and added some beautiful strings to the song. The strings are an addition for the upcoming Acoustitherapy CD called Nature Walk.

We used a Neuman TLM 103 on the bass side of the cello and a Neuman KM 184 on the treble side. We tried to use only the R84 Ribbon mic but found the sound to be just too out of focus.
