Phantom Of The Opera Concert Master Violinist Debra Fuller recorded a new composition at CCM Studios this week. Ms. Fuller was joined by cellist Kevin Johnson to complete the studio work for the upcoming Acoustitherapy release called Nature Walk. The song is quite intersting starting with a simple pizzicato cello motif and then adding the solo violin. Later in the selection the arco cello joins for a dance with the violin.

We again went to our new star mic for the violin, the AEA R84 ribbon . Although instead of a close mic set up, we put the mic up and away from the violin. We did this to enhance the “lonely” and “crying” sound of the violin.

Deborah Fuller has a classical music background. She has played opera, ballet, chamber orchestras, and symphonies across the USA. These include the Sarasota Opera in Florida, Omaha Symphony, Colorado Ballet, Chicago Sinfonietta, Utah Festival Opera, among others. Venturing out of classical music, Deborah toured for ten years with Broadway Tours, playing Concertmaster for Phantom of the Opera, Ms Saigon, the King and I, and the Music of Andrew Lloyd Webber International Tour. Deborah has worked for recording studios such as American Gramophone, Disney, and Darren’s studio – CCM Recording Studios.

Kevin Johnson also has a classical music background. He has played with the Bach Festival, Boulder Philharmonic, and the Mahler Festival; the last festival just won a prestigious award form Vienna, Austria. Kevin then moved on to the Mont Alto Motion Picture Orchestra. This silent film orchestra recorded numerous films for Time Warner and Turner Classic Movies.
